Boeing Project Over View
For this simulation project, my task was to create and conduct financial models and analysis to determine which investment would be most prudent for a major plane manufacturer to make. s.
Given figures as to usage, costs per parts labor and other metrics pertaining to each of the 5 specific plane families, the task at hand was to determine which family would be most profitable, and thus, should be most heavily invested in.
I was then informed of the three potential investment opportunities the client could make in order to improve the highest profiting plane. The task now was to determine which investment would be the most profitable: new composite wings, a more technologically advanced cockpit, or an improved manufacturing facility.
Process:
Upon receiving a dataset the first step in this analysis process was to clean and organize the data. Next, I analyzed financial metrics across the 5 plane families. I then calculated the revenue from deliveries and allocated fixed costs amongst the 5 families. Lastly, I selected which investment would prove to be the most profitable and advised decision makers via a PowerPoint Presentation.
To determine which of the three investments the client should choose, I performed a Net Present Value analysis based on assumed future cash-flows to discern which of the three investments would be most profitable on a present value basis. I then communicated insights to decision makers via a slide deck and email correspondence.
