When reflecting back upon my time with RISE SLO and the development of this marketing campaign, I can definitely say that we faced roadblocks due to a lack of direction in the initial stages of our collaboration. It was challenging to decide what our campaign would be centered around, who it would involve, and through what media form we would convey our message. Since none of of us had any sort of experience with campaigning, we had difficulty formulating ideas. Our group worked tirelessly to create this campaign and make it thoughtful and effective. Personally, I did all I could when reaching out to as many clubs and organizations as possible to participate in our campaign. I sent out an email to over 600 organizations, and not a single one replied. Some group-mates and I worked hard to reach out to organizations personally, and this ended up being the most effective strategy. We were definitely disheartened to to see so few groups participate, but are grateful for the groups that did! Our campaign was also severely affected by all of the disruption within the Greek Community during this, so we were not able to involve as many Fraternities as we wished. In conclusion, Gamma Phi Beta won our competition by having the most people in their picture and receiving the most likes on our Instagram picture. This project gave me insight into the marketing world, and how much work goes into either advertising, or in our case, advocating, for an organization.

I would also like to thank the Honors Program for their help with our campaign. Dr. Fiegel and Dr. Trice were extremely helpful in getting us in contact with the right people and in funding the pizza party for the winner of our social media campaign!
