The purpose behind this project was to utilize the knowledge learned in Mechanical Engineering Design along with a few other classes to analyze a broken part. For this project we went out to find a broken mechanical part for which we could analyze. From the part, we can use hand calculations using equations from textbooks and classes. Then we compare these results to a Finite Element Analysis from ANSYS Mechanical.
