Using an infographic taught me how helpful visuals can be when you're trying to explain something clearly. I learned that infographics are great for breaking down complicated information into something easier to understand. Instead of long paragraphs, they use pictures, charts, and bullet points to get the point across quickly. I also realized that using an infographic can make data more engaging and memorable for the audience. Overall, it helped me practice choosing the most important info and making it look simple and interesting.
The infographic represents how major tech companies foster workplace inclusion by implementing DEI initiatives. It appears to be difficult for many companies to consistently be inclusion with hiring as well as within company dynamics. There are many different factors that should be taken into consideration when hiring for a position in a company but sometimes management is more focused on filling a position quickly then finding the right fit. Just because someone marks the qualification boxes does not mean that they are the best fit all the way around. Technology companies struggle with gender gap. There tends to be less women interested in the technology field than men. There fore it is important for hiring to be aware of the ratio for gender gap within a company. It is proven that women as well as people with diverse background remain underrepresented in technology. Having diverse leadership is important as well so employees know that it is possible to excel no matter the gender, ethnicity, cultural background, etc. Also, connection and open communication is important for a company to have for employees to feel included. Many major tech companies have implemented ERGs for employees to voluntarily participate in. This helps employees build a connection and also know they are not alone. This is not something that can improve overnight. Companies must implement strategies and find way to continue to improve as time progresses. Employees are more likely to be loyal, support, and have longevity in a company with a diverse company culture.
