• Utilized human-centered design process, observed and interviewed students in wheelchairs, and identified the need to access a book off a bookshelf
• Starting with an off-the shelf grabber, designed and constructed a customized grabber prototype combining PVC pipe, cut sheet metal, and a laser-cut trigger, that would allow the students to access a single book off of a shelf.
• Managed a Gantt chart to track the team activities and progress.
• Co-wrote a preliminary design report that included problem description, market background, product research, and ideation in determining the best solutions for students in wheelchairs.
• Created and presented a professional-style tri-fold board presentation of our product at the Philosophy of Design Expo.
