Designed a two-speed right angle speed reducer using two pairs of helical gears, one pair of bevel gears, 3 shafts and 6 bearings to support these shafts. Used the AGMA gear analysis for the gears, shafts and bearing design. The design was successful as it achieved the required Factor of Safety of 2 with a gear reduction ratio of 9:1, bearings providing 25,000-hour life with 99% reliability and the shaft with infinite fatigue life.
