In this project, I designed blended wing body (BWB) aircraft with seating capacity of 586 passengers. Performed literature research, preliminary weight calculations, performance sizing, sensitivity analysis, cabin design, inboard and outboard wing design, airfoil selection, propulsion system selection and integration, landing gear design, sizing control surfaces, static and dynamic stability analysis and drag polar estimation. Conducted CFD analysis using ANSYS Fluent on designed aircraft to validate the design.
My designed blended wing body aircraft achieved lift to drag ratio 40% higher than conventional tube wing configuration.
