This project is about all the steps leading up to shooting a training video for my client, Yogurtland. I had to do some research to figure out what the problem was, how we could fix it, and what would the employees learn after watching the video. I also had to work on a schedule and budget that covered all the stages in creating this project. This assignment was done for CTVA 362, Corporate and Instructional Media, and it was done for the entire Fall semester of 2015. The project was meant to teach us how to do research and create a plan for a large business. To do this, I had to conduct an interview, look online to find information about the target audience and rates for people required to shoot the video, and do many rewrites to perfect the need, goal, and objectives for the training video.
I learned that you cannot assume what a project’s media tool will be about, sometimes you may want to jump to conclusions and start working on a website or a video but you have to do a lot of research before you can decide what the appropriate media tool is. The most challenging thing I faced was the business style writing since I’ve never had to use that before but I managed to get better at it through rewrites.
