In this study, a model of a counter-flow, mechanical draft, wet cooling tower is investigated to study the performance characteristics. The results relating the characteristic of cooling tower with air-water flow rates ratio are in agreement with those reported in the literature. The results match with Merkel theory as well. The conclusion we draw from the experiment is that increasing water flow rates will decrease the tower characteristic and the efficiency of the cooling tower.
