Community in Comics? was organized in honor of both Black History Month and the debut of Marvel's Black Panther. The program used interactive dialogue and activities to educate participants on the various positive and negative aspects of representation in comic book culture as well as provide insight into the nuances of critical media consumption.

This program won the Best Diversity Program award for February 2018 from the National Association of College and University Residence Halls.
