I worked as Project Manager for combat robotics Team Apollo. Over the course of a school year, our goal was to design and manufacture a robot that would compete in fights against other robots. My responsibilities included managing timelines, creating an engineering design notebook, and maintaining contact with manufacturing partners.
After creating the final version of the robot, we came to realize that the biggest flaw in our design was that the reach of our weapon was incredibly short. This significantly affected our ability to perform, because other robots could strike our robot when our robot was out of range. If this project were to be re-done, a better solution might have been to increase the height of the front of the robot in order to allow for a weapon with more length.
The file attached is the documentation submitted to the national competition. There are some formatting errors due to updates in the document software since I initially made this file. This includes renders of the robot as well as information about the design process and why we made the decisions we made in order to construct the robot.
