In a group of two, my partner and I decided to build a guitar fuzz pedal for our circuits class final project. This guitar fuzz pedal distorts sound in electric guitar before the sound reaches an amplifier. The fuzz pedal circuit schematic that we sourced from www.instructables.com, features an input for the guitar, and output to the amplifier. There are two potentiometers, one that modulates volume, and one that modulates distortion. A SPST lever toggle switch serves as the on/off button for the pedal, and a DPDT stomp switch sits on the front of the box which acts as a fuzz bypass if the user does not want fuzz to be activated.
The Plexiglas housing for the pedal was designed and constructed by our team. The housing was designed in Solidworks, and cuts were made on a laser cutter. Laser etching was made on the front to personalize the pedal.
