This project was a case competition submission that focuses on the issue of food insecurity and its relationship with the prevalence of chronic illnesses. Utilizing the narrative given to illustrate the situation of Bethany, an Hispanic-American who has a family and is sufferring from obesity, a proposal was created to solve her problem. The proposal consists of exploring the relationship between food insecurity and chronic illnesses, as well as conseuqences of such interaction, and suggests implementation strategies to combat food insecurity. This experience helped in learning and utilizing different methods of research, and helped to understand and critically evaluate situations such as these. Moreover, it helped to better highlight the issue of food insecurity and how important it is to consider when it comes to chronic illnesses.
