In January 2020, the Miami University Art Museum and the Oxford Community Arts Center collaborated on the event Chocolate Meltdown, a family friendly experience held every two years focusing on the intersection between chocolate and art. As the intern on this project, I was in charge of social media posts marketing the event beginning in November 2019 as well as creating marketing materials. The event also featured works by local artists from a Call for Entry looking at art inspired by chocolate.
I created the Instagram for the event where we posted highlights for different vendors featured at the event. For each vendor, I created a template picturing the business and their logo, as well as any pictures of their work to be posted alongside a short description of the vendor. Overall, there were 16 vendors with 2 posted a week, and I also handled communication with the vendors. I also started "Meltdown Monday," a weekly contest on Facebook for free tickets to the event.
The day of I volunteered working on the raffle and making sure things were running smoothly, and there was an excellent turnout. I learned valuable skills in communication and collaboration, as well as managing a professional social media account.
