For this assignment, I had to photograph the 2018 Chicago marathon. I took pictures of the participants, the spectators, and increased security measures at the event. While there, I learned many valuable lessons in quick succession. To begin with, it was a rainy day when I was taking pictures, so I had to adjust my ISO and other settings accordingly. Additionally, the runners were moving quickly, so I had to adjust my shutter speed until I found the perfect fit. I learned to introduce myself to subjects, and move around until I got the perfect angle. I also learned to wait for the perfect shot to come, rather than taking pictures of things I wouldn't be able to use later.
