For my math/science project, I chose to present my Chemical Bonding project. The purpose of the Chemical Bonding project was to compare and contrast chemical bonds (ionic, covalent, metallic), and also to demonstrate my knowledge of those bonds, valence electrons, and periodic trends. The directions were to make a brochure, storybook/comic book, song/rap, or other project type that is not a PowerPoint. I chose to do a brochure. In our project we had to have an explanation of ionic bonding, covalent bonding, metallic bonding. Also an explanation of valence electrons and how they are related to each type of bond, and explanation of how periodic trends affect bonding (i.e. electronegativity/polarity). It also had to include pictures.
One I CLEAR strategy I used to complete this work was research. I used research by looking up all the information on all the bonds, valence electrons, and periodic trend. I used my textbook and credible online soucres. There was plenty of information on each. It helped me to complete my project. By using the internet, I gathered more information that they did not include in the textbook.
A second I CLEAR strategy I used to complete this work was application. I used the information I gathered and put it on my brochure. I applied all the information into its own separate column. Also by knowing what I had to find, i used that knowledge to research more about it.
A final I CLEAR strategy I used to complete this work was inquiry. I had many things I wanted to know when I was doing this project. I needed to know more about ionic bonding, covalent bonding, and metallic bonding. Also more about valence electrons and how they are related to each type of bond, and how periodic trends affect bonding. The information that I needed to know was very important because those were the informations that I had to know more about and apply into onto my brochure.
