This summer, I was a camp counselor at a two week, Hebrew Speaking, sleep-away camp. The camp was entirely in Hebrew and I had to take care of 6 ten year-old girls. There were three age groups, and the youngest and largest group was between ages 7 and 11.

As a camp counselor, the camp had us all go through a CPR certification course. It is important to know what to do in case of an emergency.
I improved on my Hebrew speaking, reading, and writing skills. Most of the staff and counselors came from Israel specially for this camp, so it was as if i was in Israel. I also learned team work skills and communication skills through this experience. The staff was constantly in touch with one another to make sure everything was running smoothly. My age group consisted of a head counselor and ten other counselors. We had to plan activities together and make sure the kids were enjoying themselves.
Not only did we have to work together as a group, but also with other counselors of the other age groups. The counselors and I choreographed dances, wrote songs and cheers, made posters and other art work, took photographs, and even planned birthday parties for the kids. The camp was definitely a team success.
