Towards the end of the class, the class section was divided into groups and assigned the task of creating a bridge over Interstate-81 at JMU (the highway divides the JMU campus in half). I worked with two other women and we created a pedestrian bridge in addition to the vehicle and pedestrian bridge that is already over I-81. This bridge was designed to mitigate the amount of vehicle, pedestrian, and biking traffic that is happening on the pre-existing bridge.
