This was my second year's entry into the TSA Board Game Design competition that I also won 1st in state. I aimed to make this game as simple as I could while still keeping it strategic, designing it so it was not nearly as complex as Rage at the Ruin. My goal was to come up with a single central mechanic and then spend the remaining time until the competition to make the game as a whole rich and classy. I experimented with CNC-routing, cutting out a slab of Poplar hardwood for the box and various other woods for the stones, ending with sanding, stain, and polyurethane. Some problems I overcame include trying to reuse incorrectly cut hardwood to keep the price down, how to add side wood panels so that there could be engraved exterior graphics, and how I might incorporate the actual lid of the box into gameplay (Like in Rage at the Ruin).
