I collaborated with a team of 4 to design a bladeless drone. This drone used ducted fans within the body to prevent common injuries that occur from use with typical drones. I was in charge of the 3D modeling and printing of each component. This included stress testing of each component and minimizing weight while insuring structural integrity. I assisted the manufacturing engineer with assembly post printing, and the test engineer with test flights which were then used for redesigns. This design is superior to other drone design because it is safer as there are no exposed blades, and with its large design combined with primary weight coming from near the center of the drone it allows for the stability of a large drone and the agility and speed of a small drone.
