Class Description

Learning to really see and interpret the values and color relationships in still life is the main focus of this online painting class. Students are encouraged to use larger brushes to simplify and edit. Using the "all prima" direct method of painting, students learn to build forms with planes of value, color, and light. Starting with the most basic information about painting, each month a different painting issue is explored. Weekly live oil painting demos cover materials, color mixing, working habits, and more! All instructor demos are done using oil paint. This online class meets twice a week. Classes are not recorded.

Students are encouraged to share images of their paintings with the class at the end of each month.
