During the Summer of 2019, I joined a group of students and faculty members on a research trip exploring territoriality on Florida’s beaches through cartography and performance art. We explored over 50 beaches along the southern coast of Florida documenting a certain set of information on each beach. The students were being led by a UWF artist in residency named K Yoland and three faculty members; Dr. J. Derek Morgan, Dr. Jocelyn Evans, and Ms. Robin Jones. My contribution to the research trip was in assisting K Yoland and our faculty leaders in collecting cartographic data, informing beach goers, and specifically assisting with K's project analyzing and commenting on the territoriality of beaches.
