Contextual Statement:
This artifact is a technical paper presented to RASC-AL detailing the low mass lunar habitat design a group of 20 students and I have been working on for a year. This is effectively a shortened version of my capstone project as an aerospace engineering student. This document was submitted to RASC-AL as a contestant for their yearly competition. The specifics of the competition can be found here http://rascal.nianet.org/themes/.
Within this project I worked on the power, propulsion, and thermal sub team. Under the PPT heading you can find everything my group has been focused on throughout the school year. Although the competition results are not in yet, we have been named "Best in Theme" for lunar habitats.
I included this document to showcase my technical skills, such as completing high level calculations, intricate CAD designs, and technical writing skills. In addition to showcasing my hard skills, I believe this document successfully shows that I can work effectively in a group setting. Teamwork and communication were extremely important to this project. We also had to complete work on strict deadlines showing my time management abilities. Overall this project is a summation of many of the skills I have learned throughout my time at the University of Maryland.
