The Iron Majors Award recognizes some of the best and brightest AMEDD majors for their promotion potential and continued Army service. The selected officers attended the one-week event in the National Capital Region and participated in a variety of interagency activities. The Iron Major award identifies Army Medical Department Soldiers in the rank of major or captain promotable that demonstrate outstanding leadership and medical skills, the ability to mentor subordinates, and the potential to shape future change and initiatives associated with Army medicine.
