The purpose of this study is to investigate the impact of implementing augmented reality (AR) apps into middle school science curriculum on student motivation based on John Keller’s ARCS motivational model of instruction. A thorough study of current research on current uses of AR in adult and student learning and the impacts on motivation and learning outcomes. Included in the study is a preliminary design of a middle school AR science unit.
