This assignment was completed in HCS 4504: Advanced Golf Operations. This is a complete Business Plan for a mock golf course, Pine Valley Country Club, that I created throughout the semester this course took place. The business plan covers everything a normal golf course business plan covers, as you can see when looking at the assignment. This assignment was completed to cover one of the PGA of America checkpoints that all aspiring PGA Professionals must complete. This assignment was completed over the course of an entire semester because it was a vast assignment that included numerous tasks. I think it will be very useful when applying for a job because I can show that I completed an entire business plan by myself, as anyone can see by viewing the business plan. It was a great learning experience because I was required to look at all aspects of a golf facility and create a strategic plan based on all factors that go into the golf business.

One NACE skill shown in this assignment is critical thinking/problem solving. This is shown by critically thinking about every aspect of the golf business and possible changes/solutions to any problems that would come about. The skill of written communications is shown with this assignment because it is a written business plan that communicates the goals and overall plan of Pine Valley Country Club's golf business. Another skill shown is professionalism/work ethic. This assignment is a writing sample and took an entire semester to complete, which shows a strong work ethic. It could also be argued that this assignment showed ‘career management’ because it is something that I could be working on in my future job(s).
