The experience I have gained completing my act of civic engagement is the importance of making your voice heard and consistently staying involved in my community. I learned that it is easy to complain and only see things from the outside looking in; however, civic engagement enables me to develop the combination of knowledge, skills, and values while working towards making a difference. Complaining and being fed up is one thing, but civic engagement provides the opportunity to be a part of the solution.
