As an exercise to build my solidworks skills, I modeled a 3-Jaw chuck in Solidworks. The symmetrical structure of the chuck made the housing pieces easier to design and taught me how to use the circular pattern feature. The pinions were modified components from the built-in Solidworks library, however the remaining components were modeled from scratch. This project also introduced new mates to me including the path and gear mates which replicate the closing motion of the jaws.
