This year, we were tasked with building an emergency water filter out of materials from a hardware store to treat wastewater for use in lettuce farming. The wastewater contained potting soil, pine needles, pickling lime, and clay. The filter was expected to meet target levels for turbidity, pH, electrical conductivity, volume, and chlorine residual. I helped co-lead this year's team.
