This was my team's 2013 MAE 106 robot project. For this project, teams were required to design, build, and program a robot to travel to a predetermined location using a PID control system along with a custom steering and drive train system. The objective of the King of the Hill competition was to be the robot closest to the target location after one minute.
We worked in groups of 5, but each of us were responsible for different aspects of the robot design. I primarily worked on system electronics and pneumatics, but I helped my teammates with programming, CAD and manufacturing as well. After 10 weeks of optimizing and debugging our robot, our group won the entire class competition out of 45 robots and 225 other students.
