I took the initiative to learn how to fix my car because I could not afford a mechanic. It was daunting at first but I eventually learned to appreciate the craft.
Below are the tasks I have performed to restore the functionality and reliability of a 1985 Nissan 300ZX.
- Replaced heater core to stop coolant leaking into car
- Replaced timing belt and set engine timing to prevent internal engine damage
- Replaced radiator to fix overheating issue and replaced thermostat and water pump as preventative maintenance
- Bled brakes and clutch to remove trapped air inside hydraulic system and prevent malfunction
- Replaced old faulty rear shocks to eliminate irregular tire wear and improve ride handling and stability
- Referred to manufacturer specifications to correctly torque down bolts and tightness of drive belts to
ensure safety of driver
- Replaced the rack and pinion to restore ease of steering
